I don't have the number but there is an exactly correct Celeste color in
the list that is about two shades too light and is listed as "light
green". I just had some mixed up at a paint shop.

There have been many Celestes over the years. Take a sample to a good paint
shop.

What colour temperature is your monitor?

I went through a process of trying to pin down exactly what color Celeste
is, and found that there is no single color with which to define it. I
looked at their bikes, compared Benjamin Moore paint chips, looked at their
site color choices, and matched these with % color mixes on the computer.
The end result is that nothing is perfectly consistent. If I were you, I'd
do what I did: I bought a Celeste Bianchi bottle cage, decided it was as
Celeste as it gets, and I use that to match or adjust anything else.

I figure if it looks right and comes from Bianchi it's as good as I can get.

Another problem you run into, by the way, involves the total appearance of
the color, regardless of which colors form it. In other words, the cage is
flat, while the bike itself has a luminescent sheen, while the color on the
website is essentially "glowing" on your computer monitor.

What color system are you using? Your answer is like asking someone
how fast they were going and they say B6/sec.

That is an RGB value reported in hex.

In other words, this:

Which could look like almost anything, depending on your display and
how it's tuned.

I had a precise color match done for a 1966 Bianchi.
In Pratt and Lambert Marine Enamel it's
Base=A1
D=14+14
H=9+9+2
T=5+5
E=1/2
M=10
Which was also used for Deb Bollag's patio furniture!

In other words, it's a fundamentally flawed description of the bike's
color.

It's fundamentally flawed to try to define color of something that
reflects (like paint on metal) in terms of color of something that
transmits color (like a computer monitor).

A 1/4 oz. bottle of brush on Celeste is available on the Bianchi web site
for $4.95. Also available, is a two part spray paint with a base coat and a
top clear coat for $19.95. Check out

ategory/se=Paint/va=link_image%3d/va=link_banner%3d.html?id=L6Y9m7x4

Now if anyone can find a similar product for the yellow on the rear triangle
of the 2001 SL Aluminum frames....That I'd pay good money for. GT
"Screaming Yellow" is just off enough to bother me.

Al, I'm surprised that you didn't add that Celeste changes in tone from
year to year.
