One of my friends has a Rolf Vector pro rear wheel set up with a Campy
freehub body. All of his bikes use Shimano. Does anyone know where to get a
replacement Rolf freehub body to change to Shimano compatibility?

The other question is: Does the freehub come off with an Allen key, similar
to the way Shimano works?

Thanks,

Bruce

Bruce: I believe there's a slightly different hub on the Campy vs Shimano
models, so you can simply switch a body (in fact, you can't simply
anything... you'd need a whole different hub).

Can't do this AFAIK...but just use a Campag 9s cogset, it'll work fine with a
shimano 9s drivetrain...maybe even better!!

Now wait a sec. I've used respaced Shimano 9-speed cassettes on Campy and
found they often work better than the stock Campy. And now you're saying a
Campy cassette on a Shimano drivetrain works better than the stock Shimano?

Hmm...

If he's running a Campagnolo nine speed cassette the difference in spacing is
so slight as to be not worth swapping anything IMHO.

Mike,

Relax, the real question is whether the customer can either get a new
freehub assembly to use a Dura Ace cogset, or will the existing Campy unit
work just as well, without replacing anything?

I have not replaced or serviced the freehub on a Rolf Vector Pro, which is
the reason for the original posting.

Bruce: Relax? I was just having a bit of fun with the idea that Campy
stuff might work better on Shimano and vice versa.

But to get back to the original question, if Peter (who has a *lot* of
experience with Campy stuff) says that the Campy cassette will work fine on
a Shimano drivetrain, I'm inclined to believe him. Just haven't tried it
myself.

Never have had to respace anything when mixing campag and shimano 9s casettes
and drivetrains. Just use the chain for that casette-shimano-shimano,
Campag-Campag...works just fine...
