hi, could anyone help me to calculate what length spokes i will need
to build a wheel? I have a sturmey archer xrd-3 hub and a rigida zac
2000 36 hole 700c rim. I've looked at some of the online calulators
and have got my self suitably confused! I have the following specs on
the hub:

XRD3 / 3 Speed Internal Gear Hub with 70mm Drum Brake

Specs

• Axle Length - 162.7mm
• Over Locknut Dimension - 117.3mm
• Right Axle Protrusion Length - 23.1mm
• Left Axle Protrusion Length - 22.3mm
• Spoke Holes - 36
• Pitch Circle Diameter - 89.8mm
• Flange Width - 62.6mm
• Spoke Compatibility - 13g or 14g
• Sprocket Teeth - 13T through 22T
• Chain Line: 1/8” Flat 13T ? 19T - 44.9 43.2
• Chain Line: 1/8” Dished 17T ? 22T - 46.6 45.0 43.2 41.6
• Chain Line: 3/32” Flat 16T - 44.5 42.9 45.1 43.5
• Chain Line: 3/32” Dished 17T ? 22T - 46.9 45.3 42.7 41.0

& for the rim:

> Size : 622x19 (700C)
> Sides : UP
> Eyelets : SE DE
> Spokeholes : 32-36
> Valve hole : 6.5 -8.5 mm

285mm assuming a 599mm erd. Someone double check it.

I get (assuming that PCD means flange diameter) 268.5 for 3x
& 278.5 4x for an ERD of 595.4 (estimated from the 21.4mm
drop from the bead as compared with other rims). Meow?

see the other on page wheel=spoke post and buy a tape measure or
yardstick. Wal carries some metal rulers over is SEW

I get the same numbers with that ERD. Got mine from a Ben's Cycle
page, FWIW.

Belay that, I still had it on 48 holes. 278.5 for 3x, 294 4x.
599 ERD gives me 280 & 295.5 for 3x & 4x respectively.

I advise getting a ruler and making actual measurements.
