It doesn't appear to have bought him anything. He's a sprinter and got a second. In the TT he didn't lose anything. Imagine trying to thread a broken chain back through that thing on the road.

Wowee!

I wonder if I can put cage fairings on my SunTour derailleurs?

A bit more seriously: This looks no more integral than a Zzipper
fairing. I thought UCI was against add-on fairings for frames and
components. Am I wrong?

500-590 Euros for oversized pulleys and ceramic rear derailleur pulley bearings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you sold any of these ceramic bearing oversize pulleys in your shop Andy? If you did, did you close up the shop immediately afterwards and take all the boys out for drinks and steaks?

We have not.

For that sort of thing (I do not know about this product
specifically) the 'going rate' is normally less than dealer
cost (on top of which we pay delivery charges).

Hambini did a video on that fairing. His idea is that it couldn't work for several reasons; the most important of which is that the rear derailleur is directly in the path of the feet on the pedals making it dirty air and therefore any aerodynamic fittings useless. Also the fairing itself in order to leave a pathway for a chain must of needs have a broken aero construction. So this is a no runner that was manufactured to sell as "aero" and it isn't. Also Hambini has said over and over that ceramic bearings are no good because the races are steel. The ceramic bearings are super hard and running those on a steel race does nothing more than grind a path into the race destroying the way a bearing works.

I tried to find that cite but can't find it again. Perhaps Hambini was sued again. Somehow they never get to court since Joe inventor has a hard time defending his ideas from an aerodynamics engineer
