Let's assume the crucifiction really took place (ie. that the fiction
is real)... and then a few day later Jesus rose from the dead. What's
the big deal about when he didn't commit the "ultimate sacrifice,"
which is to die and be really dead or perhaps to be crippled for
life?
The non Christians though can claim many more victims and not less
painful death... the Inquisition inflicted excruciating torture, the
Conquistadors and colonists committed genocide against the Indians
followed by the slavery against the Africans, the Church was behind
the Spanish Civil War against the freedom-loving Libertarians, etc.
I think the CRUCIFICTION has been created and re-created with an
agenda in mind, but the opposition can claim far more victims.

Blessed are those who are sensitive to the misery and misfortune of

The world today revolves around a few key elements: money, power and

Far from being a belief or philosophy of compassion and love, it is
often corrupted by abusive, omnipotent fanaticism. In our western
eyes, of course, it is Islam - as expressed by terrorists and other
extremists - which has become the standard example of this abuse of
religion. Yet the abuse of Islam is not, by any means, the only
example of abuse of a religion. Christianity is also re-living a
sombre era with an upsurge in fanaticism, a schism between believers
and increasing extremism.
Science is evolving, explaining, frightening and dehumanising. Money
is building, accumulating and dividing. The human dimension is
becoming lost in this globalisation of its being which is diluting and
isolating it. The media are underpinning this abuse of the spirit in
favor of the material. Consumption of television programs is replacing
citizenship, freedom is being stifled and democracy is turning into
autocratic populism. Lies are invading the public arena.
The response of the financial, political and intellectual oligarchies
is formidable and effective: silence those who think. Panem et
circences, food and amusement. Above all, there is new religious
opium...

the excuse I heard the most often is: ONLY GOD CAN CHANGE THINGS!
So I've come to the conclusion that Christians will never be part of
the solution. They are waiting for God to fix up things while they
think nothing but sin and damnation... NO TO MARIJUANA, NO TO
ABORTION, NO TO PROSTITUTION, NO TO EUTHANASIA, NO TO UNIVERSAL
HEALTHCARE, while they turn a blind eye to the CLEAR AND PRESENT
DANGERS faced by humanity, ie. WAR AND CLIMATE CHANGE.
I try to ride a bike on the road to chip in with the health of the
world and my own, and that remains Quixotic at best or plain martyrdom
at worst. Then I realize they stand by the Hungry Lion that represents
the system, and I see the need to go hunting.
It's risky business, but a man gotta do what a man gotta do... ;)

Let's face it, the average idiot that posts to Usenet does not have the
brains to be an editor, not even of his own posts. You could do it and I

By the way, a sure sign of a crank is one note Johnny. Comandante Banana

The yellow in prepared mustard is from turmeric, which contains a
potent, but non-UV-stable, dye. Sunshine takes it out.
My wife dyed some marching band uniforms with turmeric once... then
