I am purchasing a Cannondale CAAD4 road bike. It is equiped with a
Slice Prodigy fork, 1 1/8" aluminum steerer tube, with carbon blades.

What is your experience with the durability of this fork? Has anyone
had an aluminum/ carbon fork fail where the two materials meet?

I'm suprised that not one person comments. Bike shops or mechanics
offer any insight?

If you could please post your experience with this fork, good or bad,
reliable or unreliable, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Nicholas

I bought a Cannondale R1000 in 1998 which has the CAD3 frame and a Slice
fork. I have put about 2-3K miles on it each year since then and I have not
had any problems with the fork. I weigh about 215 lbs and some of the roads
I ride are not the smoothest. I have also been very pleased with the bike.
I love the stiffness of the frame for when I get out of the saddle, and I
also like the way the bike corners at high speed. Very stable. Good luck
with it.
