My Avocet 15 battery went dead. The battery supplied with the unit has no
number. Does anyone have a battery number for replacement? Also, does
anyone have the reset number for a 700 x 25c wheel with the Avocet 15?

Thanks in advance.

The Avocet 15 battery no. is 10150
The Calibration reset no. for the 700 x 25c Avocet tire is 2091.
I would use only the Avocet battery. I tried other cross reference brand
batteries and have messed up the cyclometer. You can purchase the correct
battery at Palo Alto Bicycles in CA (650) 328-7411, price is $2.95. The
package is so small, it can be put in a regular mail envelope. The calibration
numbers are also on the package. They are open 7 days a week. Replacement
caps are also sold there.
good luck,
-tom

Brian:

Avocet's web page should have all that information. Go to

http://www.avocet.com

I know for sure they have battery information. If they don't have the tire
index information, go to Sheldon Brown's computer page at

http://www.sheldonbrown.com/cyclecomputer_calibration.html

That should take care of you!

I have an Avocet 45 and buy my batteries from the local watch store. So far
they seem to work ok.

I think the biggest difference in some of these watch/hearing aid/tablet
type batteries is the thickness. If all else fails, find some calibers
and measure and then buy the closest one and try it.

Yes. If the voltage is correct (about 1.5 volts for the Avocet 45 and
most others), you can't hurt the computer. Just make sure you insert the
battery with the right polarity! You can buy a pack of 4 or 8 hearing
aid batteries at Radio Shack very cheaply.
