eBay mangles the sellers and buyers names and requires that all
correspondence be performed via eBay messages. They do this to
prevent transactions outside of eBay, thus defrauding eBay of its
commission. However, if you're sneaky, you can communicate email
addresses and phone numbers via eBay messages. Of course, you are a
special case, which makes business ethics optional and at your
convenience.

Serotta Frames sold or withdrawn (competed) on eBay:

It's somewhat difficult to identify the frame since the only
description you've provided is that it's "my size". I found an
article where you sold on Craigslist a "58 cm Felt F55X", so I guess
58cm is your size.
This Serotta frame is 58 to 60cm and might be what you just bought:
"Serotta Fierte 58cm - 60cm frame, steel w/carbon stays. Needs
refinishing":

The listing ended yesterday, Mon Sep 25 at 2:35 AM. (I'm not certain
if that's PDT or UTC).
Apparently, you didn't negotiate a deal outside of eBay. Instead, you
probably negotiated a better price via eBay messages and then just
bought it via eBay. If you had completed the transaction outside of
eBay as you claimed, it would have been marked as "withdrawn by
seller" or something similar, as it was when you previously did the
same thing on a previous eBay purchase.
No bonus points for lying about eBay "screwing up the bid" and you
fixing it by contacting the seller. Why did you feel the need to lie
about the transaction? Lying didn't gain you any acclaim or special
attention.
