Hi, I'm interested in hearing about experiences with the Blackburn
Workhorse stand. Looks good to me in the catalogs. Should I buy the
delux version with the truing stand?

Thanks, Bahram

I'd look elsewhere. You have to remove the front wheel in order to mount the
bike, which means headset and front-brake adjustments are impossible. It's a
stupid, stupid design.

I have one. Don is right on the disadvantages - plus one more... it's relatively
unstable for any jobs requiring a lot of torque. On the other hand, it does have
the advantage of being very portable - folds up into a very small package; takes
up little room in a closet, or in your car. You should decide what you're going
to use it for, and then decide.

I've got the deluxe model. A while back REI had them on sale for $50. If
you ordered online shipping was free. The thing to keep in mind is that you
must take off the front wheel to mount the bike, so headset and front brake
adjustments are out of the question. On the plus side the stand is portable
and light. It came with a tool pouch and carry bag. If you travel, then it is
a good choice, if you don't, then there are better stands to be had.
