I use these pedals on my two bikes. While one set of pedals is a good
deal newer than the other, I'm pretty sure both are outside the
recommended service interval. I read about that on Campagnolo's Web
site some time back, and I believe it said 30,000 km or so.

I recently ordered two sets of springs and two sets of plates. My LBS
is having trouble getting the right plates (I had no idea that there
were any options in this area - maybe they received plates for Campy's
previous pedal design.).

One thing I haven't been able to find is maintenance instructions for
the pedals.

I took a plate off one of my right side pedals (the side I clip out of
at a stop). This gives access to the spring, and that area was full
of gunk. I'm pretty sure that isn't a good thing....

Can anyone tell me where to find instructions for properly maintaining
the pedals?

Andrew,
Thanks, that is the document I've seen before. It doesn't seem to
recommend any periodic cleaning of the pedals, just replacement of the
springs when they get worn. Both of my pairs of pedals also show wear
of the plates that cover the springs (and I'm missing a screw from one
of the plates), so I ordered both springs and plates. I'll try to get
the area where the springs go cleaned out - there was so much gunk I
couldn't see the spring in the pedal I took a plate off of - and I
guess that's about all I can do.
