Hi. I'm Andre Jute, whose name is up in the headline of the current
helmet flame war being waged by the anti-helmet zealots, 321 posts in
the thread as of 22.18 GMT on 2 Sept 2010 and adding posts by the
minute.
This thread was started by me under another name to present, without
any recommendation whatsoever about helmet-wearing or mandatory helmet
laws, new and important data compiled in New York City about cycling
fatalities and very serious accidents. The data, it turned out,
infuriated the anti-helmet zealots because it irrefutably undermines
several of their most closely held beliefs; which of their core
beliefs are undermined is irrelevant because here I want to discuss
attitudes to free speech rather than cases in the helmet wars.
The thread was promtly renamed "The Time Wasting of Jute" by one of
the anti-helmet zealots, one Tim McNamara, who is known not to be the
sharpest knife in the drawer, which might account for McNamara never
shirking his leftwing duty to display maximum hypocrisy.
The entire anti-helmet zealotry of RBT then sent hundreds of messages
(already grown to 327 messages at 22.46) to "The Time Wasting of
Jute", by their own admission wasting their time and everyone else's.
So what does it all mean? Can't they see that it makes them look
stupid?
Nope, you have that wrong. They don't think it makes them look stupid.
They think it sends a message.
The message was first floated by Frank Krygowski, one of the dumbest,
loudest and most prolific of the anti-helmet zealots when he
complained that I (Andre Jute, himself, now) don't pay him, Frank
Krygowski, enough respect, that I get away with publishing all kinds
of pro-helmet stuff. In short, that the anti-helmet zealots have a
*right* not to be contradicted.
To reinforce that message, all the little anti-helmet zealots set up a
chant labelling me as a troll.
Apparently it is quite inconceivable to them that anyone would go to
the trouble of distributing unbiased information simply as a
democratic duty owed to the great privilege of free speech. (I've been
hunted by assassins sent by sovereign governments for speaking out, so
I really, really mean that sincerely.)
No, publishing any data that contradicts their most closely held
beliefs is always an attack on their person, a lack of respect, in
short a "troll".
Only their faith has the right to exist and be exposed to cyclists.
The stench of the mullahs pervades this sort of argument, of course,
but the anti-helmet zealots not only have the short dicks of bullies,
they also have the short brains of bullies; they can't see anything
this obvious.
In this light it is, in their view, a waste of time to publish any
information on cycling conferences which doesn't reinforce their anti-
helmet case. Opposition has no rights, regards of the factual merits
of the case.
Their hundreds of messages to a thread the anti-helmet zealots
themselves labelled a waste of time is in their eyes not hypocritical
but the unnecessary and distasteful task of talking out the offensive
information Jute the Troll "spewed". (Despite losing every single
point of reason, these anti-helmet zealots probably feel they've won
the argument, because they're still telling the same lies as they
started with despite each lie having been exposed with a provable
fact. But such marxist debating forms, while interesting in
themselves, are not the subject of this article.)
Nothing, no method, is too low to counter the "Juteshit" (McNamara
again).
For a ruthless and immoral gang to put someone's name in the headline
is also a form of intimidation, a message to everyone else: "See what
we will do to you if you cross us." It doesn't matter to me: I've been
a public intellectual since I was 13 and I'm used to abuse from my
intellectual and moral inferiors, right up to them trying to kill me;
I just smile and take their names and take care of them later.
But I have no difficulty understanding that many who might want to ask
serious and innocent questions about a subject of great importance to
cyclists shy away from being publicly beaten up by this scum of anti-
helmet zealots.
And that is the point of hundreds of abrasively offensive messages in
a thread that the very people sending the hundreds of abrasively
offensive messages themselves labelled "The Time Wasting of Jute" --
to intimidate free speech.
That is the point of labelling whoever brings new information that
might in the slightest tend to favour helmet wear a "troll" -- to
intimidate free speech.
It should be obvious to all that anyone who intimidates free speech is
an enemy of democracy and of society. If it isn't, ask, and I'll
gladly draw out the links of the argument.
Their behaviour on RBT and the other cycling conferences makes the
anti-helmet zealots and their fellow travellers enemies of society.
Here, in alphabetical order, a list of thugs in that gang of anti-
helmet zealots and fellow travellers who are by their actions enemies
of society:

There a some lesser players but they're probably only doing it for
their fifteen of fame, so let's deny them the oxygen of publicity by
not naming them. (Actually, I've just forgotten their names...)

POTW, "Choppy"! ROTFL
You obviously think all the time about getting laid, Choppy. Wonder
why that is.

His shorts must be too tight, or the seat adjusted too high. All too common.
Front of the seat could be pointing up too, cutting off circulation in
the perineum, eventually leading to impotence. Poor Choppy may appear
to have a personality defect which stops him getting laid only as a
result of his anger because he *can't* get laid even if he finds a
willing lass (1). Poor Choppy. Bad business, these narrow roadie
saddles.

Aaaaugh! Stop saying the word!

I am a vehicular cyclist.
'tis one of the words the knights of Ni cannot say?
JS.
Pro helmet here, but not pro helmet zealot or totally insane and
mentally unstable person who happens to wear a helmet. I am anti dork.
Jute=dork. Hence, by using deductive logic I'm anti-jute.
