disappointed. At least previous to this the discussions were largely
based on disputes over bike technology, the aging Luddites constantly
excoriating those new-fangled carbon frames and factory built wheels.
Now, in a group that common sense implies should be promoting human
powered transportation, we have ignorant global warming deniers using
specious arguments, old and refuted data, gross misstatements, and
outright lies, compounded by the lowest for of argument - ad hominem
attacks.
Verifiable, repeatable, and falsifiable data are there to support
global warming, and it's not a stretch to say the deniers here (and
elswhere) are in no intellectual position to hold rational debates.
Here's a clue, you bloviating shitbags - start talking about bikes and
bike technology with a grain of civilty. Maybe then you'll actually
encourage participation from lucid and learned engineers, frame
builders, and experienced technicians.

Don't conflate impressions with vetted facts - it only makes you look
more stupid. The anti-warming side has little more support than a few
disgruntled scientists whose grant requests were denied and a few
politically motivated scumbags.
While the rabid GW proponents claims of human effect on GW are at
worst wildly over-stated, at least they have a reasonable basis for
their claims. Your side has as much evidence as a person standing on
the beach as the tide is coming in, and claiming it isn't because the
receding waves leave his feet exposed.
