Is the Daytona 9 speed grouppo worth the extra money in terms of performance
and weight compared to Veloce. The intended use is fast recreation riding,
2k-3k per year.
Thanks, Jim

Yes, no, maybe so. Depends on your budget. Buy the best you can. Daytona is
probably a better value, if that's what you're asking.

Performance is the same and the weight 'savings' is small-
I trhink Veloce would be a great gruppo for you-

Veloce grouppo is good value and dependable. I have the Veloce with a
Daytona cogset and they have consistently proven me well in century
rides. The weight savings between the Daytona and Veloce is slight. If
you want weight savings to be done right, go for a light frame like a Ti
(Litespeed, Merlin or Seven), a pair of light wheels, a carbon fork like
Time Club and a decent group like Veloce. It will make you one hell of a
screaming bike!

As far as I'm concerned, you get more bragging rights with Chorus or Record,
but Veloce both looks great and works like a charm. There is really no need
for anything more expensive unless you're a pro racer maybe.
