I have been receiving all sorts of scams lately that appear to be from real companies. The latest is supposedly from Norton and offers a 75% discount. That in itself should raise the hackles on your neck because Norton has no reason to offer discounts. But of course the kicker is the return address which is not a Norton site. Not even a misspelled Norton site.

So beware of these scams and don't through your finances down a rat hole.

That should be "throw" or better yet "send, not "through".

Norton doesn't sell software any more. They sell subscriptions and do
offer discounts. For example, "Save up to 66% your first year".

They can afford to give such lavish discounts because the sucker
errr... buyer is contractually obligated to subscribe for a 2nd year
with an automatic renewal at the regular prices of $120 for Norton 360
Deluxe or $140 for Norton 360 Permium. There are also offers for
additional products available, all of which include an introductory
discount. The fine print:

Norton seems to have learned the art of selling software from the
scammers.

You could have figured all that out if you had glanced at the Norton
web site, but you didn't.

Oops. That should be Norton 360 Premium, not Permium.

I don't think that Tom likes me. This morning, someone tried to
change the password on my Facebook account. I can't prove that it was
Tom, but it's fun to accuse him anyway. Nobody has ever tried to do
that previously and the timing is far too perfect to be a coincidence.
Facebook security is a bad joke, so eventually he just might succeed
in taking over my account.

Hint... Letting your intended victim notice your activities is not a
good idea.

Lately, Tom seems to be posting more "technical" information, hints
and opinions, which I assume are intended to establish him as an
expert on most everything technical in RBT. That's not likely because
his research, accuracy and attention to detail are still lacking.
Still, it's a major improvement over the previous political rants, bad
advice, self aggrandizement and fact free comments in literally every
thread.

Tom doesn't like anyone that disagrees with him, in fact I'm surprised
that he hasn't added you to the list of people who he claims to have
black listed.

But perhaps Tom actually believes his basic arguments. After all if
you have been aboard a sailing vessel it is only a short step to
imagining yourself as a sailor, and one more step and you are the
captain and of course the Captain must know how to navigate, and round
and round she goes...
