Before you buy.
You could try a post in alt.movies
I thought the good people in the bicycle groups knew everything,
but those other guys are scary. Someone over there probably
knows the correct answer, you might even get a reply from the
guy who owns the cap...

He actually had 2 or 3 different hats. I noticed the different colors.
Let us hear the results of this interesting query!

I've never seen anyone wearing a Shimano hat. Campy hats just plain look
better. I'm sure they also offer better head protection in the event of a
crash than a Shimano hat :-)

He also had a Time hat too.

P.S. Do you think that Costner guy really rides bikes or did his agent
just think that American Flyers would be a vehicle to stardom?

He apparantly rides alot, and had participated in a triathlon
with a handicapped boy.
BTW, you might not be able to find spare parts for your Shimano
hats, but you can buy a new one for a special intro price, every
year!!
- irony off...
You've missed the point. The star of a major movie is wearing
a bicycling cap. The natural question that arises is "does this
person really ride a bike and is bringing some of his/her private
life to the screen, or is just part of the costume, and is unrelated
to the actor's real life?"
I'm actually somewhat sickened that you've jumped to your conclusion,
because the above was obviously the tone of this entire thread,
while you've jumped straight to the conclusion that we are a bunch of
racists. chris

I've always maintained that if you're looking hard enough for demons,
you'll find them everywhere. It seems that "kracklite42" is looking
pretty hard.

Either that, or "kracklite42" is what this person has been smoking.
His comments were far more tempered and polite than yours. If you
believed what you wrote, you could not possibly have written it. This,
and your unquotable followup, have made the point quite clear.

As long as you think that being called a racist is polite, that's
fine with me. Being polite and tempered doesn't make up for
what he said. And if you really think my "krack" crack
was racist, then you are guilty of the same thing I'm accusing
this guy of in the first place. chris

Chris,
Don't worry about these people ... some just need a torch to carry, and look
for any opportunity to flash it around. I mean, they can be very creative ....
I'm one of the least racist people I know, and I've caught flack sevaral
times for innocent comments (that reflect reality, btw). Let these idiot's
comments roll right off your back.

Talk about coincidence, I was flipping channels and came across
said movie. I just watched the beginning, because it was late, and was
treated to the Time cap.
Has anybody found out about this? My curiosity is truly piqued
now. chris

Why do you say this? Lots of celebrities are into cycling. Snipes is
certainly into physical fitness, so why not cycling?

A few years ago VeloNews covered Cipollinis vist to NYC. During a visit
to,
what else, a upscale clothing store, Cipo and his teammate got all giddy
like schoolgirls when none other than Wesley Snipes walked in. I would
think if Snipes is a savvy cyclist, he would have walked over and said
hello. But it doesn't mean Snipes doesn't ride.......
