When I get back from the ride today I will take some new pictures of the Fondriest and put them on Craigslist. While there's a greater chance of it selling fairly rapidly on Ebay, they would pay for it using Paypal and I'm not doing business with them since they tried to steal $1500 from me.

They invented a scheme called Paypal Digital Gifts which is perfect scam for theft. They will not let you opt out of that scheme and they consider any "purchase" of "gifts" from the scheme legitimate. Then someone at Paypal has figured out how to take over YOUR computer if you leave it on all the time like most people do. So in the middle of the night, they take your computer over, order Paypal Digital Gifts assigned to themselves and since it is from your computer Paypal declares it an actual purchase from your computer.

I actually came in and saw them doing it - they were moving the Email notification of the purchase from the Inbox to the Trash box so that I wouldn't see it.

In any case, although no one in the area is buying unless it is a more than exceptional deal, I will deal in case and avoid. Paypal now.

Interesting aside - Elon Musk was one of the founders of Paypal. When he sold it to Google, he made $180 Million just himself. I think that the other investors had larger stakes so that must have been some sale.

As soon as one of my bikes sells I will strip the 11 speed off of my Land Shark and install a 12 speed with the 48/32 crankset and the 10/29 cogset. This will give me the same ratios I presently have for climbing or top speed.

Then I will put the 11 speed up for sale and recover at least some of the costs of the 12 speed.

I would like to sell the Fondriest to someone that can appreciate it. I will change the wheelset out for the new Calim wheels which are really gravel wheels and wider than the Siroccos that are on it. That will make the clicking go away and I can adjust the hubs on the Siroccos.

It's been around for a few years. Basically, it's like buying a gift
card at the supermarket or other physical store and paying for it
using PayPal:

I turn mine off when I'm not using them. Among my former customers,
nobody left their desktops or laptops turned on overnight. Also, I
make sure that WoL (wake on LAN) is disabled so it doesn't magically
turn on at night. Same with remote access programs like Chrome Remote
Desktop, AnyDesk, Teamviewer etc.

Enable 2FA (two factor authentication) or install an authenticator app
on your smartphone. I have about 7 authenticator apps installed on my
phone (Google, Microsoft, Xfinity, Aegis, etc). For banking, have
several rolling code generators that work much the same way.

I don't believe you. Most remote access programs allow blanking out
the remote screen. Doing so helps deal with any difference in screen
resolutions between the host and the client. It also dramatically
speeds up screen writes.

Any more complaints about how everyone except you is doing everything
wrong?
