I picked up an old Concorde PDM bicycle that has an old Miche
crankset on it. Don't know what model, it just has a decal
that says "Monolithic Computer Designed" on it and is painted
a metallic gray to match the PDM paint job. I thought I would
swap the 42 chainring for something smaller, but when I measured
from bolt to bolt I got 2 11/16 inches - a 116 BCD crank??!!
I didn't think anyone made these except Campy, but I guess Miche
copied them for compatibility?

Anyway, what are my chances of finding a 38 tooth or smaller
chainring for this beast?

Thanks,

Vrishni

Smallest ring available is 35t, but as you say it's an unusual size which
nobody is going to have in stock. Miche are still making them, see
http://www.miche.it/inglese/Guarnitura-monolithic.htm so it's going to be a
question of finding a Miche dealer to special order them, or a Campagnolo
dealer with some new old stock Victory or Triomphe rings.
