I am looking to replace my road bike and ran into Steve Dorris, who
builds the Janic frame, at the Hotter-N-Hell Hundred in Texas last
August. His custom frame sounds and looks good and is fitted to your
own body measurements. He is from Durango, Colo. Has anyone had any
experience with the Janic frame?
Thanx.

One of the guys that I work and ride with has a Janic frame. When I
asked him about it he said that he really enjoys his bike but doesn't
have enough personal experience with other bikes to make a good
comparison.

He did make one comment about buying a custom bike though. He said that
if he were to do it over he would have gotten only the frame made and
then have all of the components built up at a local shop (we are in
Houston, TX). He was not complaining about the quality of the components
he received as much as wanting to have more control and input on the
components, the installation, etc. that he could have with an LBS.

Not a strong opinion either way. Sorry.

(Ah yes! September is eternal now.)

Did you know this thread was written in 17 years ago in 1996. You may
have broken a record in replying to the oldest post ever. Judging by your
nom de guerre you were one when it was written.

Good job mermaidgirl95! ;)
