no giro coverage...

canal evasion in quebec (the french version of OLN) won't be showing the
giro this year. Apparently it was too difficult or something to have the
live coverage and there were technical problems...some such thing. They
were using the RAI feed..anyways, no giro coverage here. I was really
looking forward to seeing those great mountain stages. This sucks!

Funny, I just cancelled my Canal Evasion subscription a few days ago
as I figured I already subscribe to RAI International (which will
probably show the Giro), so there was no need for me to have two
channels showing the same race. Looks like it I did the right thing.
And besides, I liked the RAI coverage better. They play that Giro
theme song that gets stuck in my head ~~El Grande Giro~~El Grande
Giro~~ Or whatever the lyrics are.

RAI International is showing cycling again, now that the season has
started. They've been showing Tyrannical-Adriatico stages for the
past couple of nights. Usually around 45 minutes to an hour's worth
of coverage per night; although last night they only showed 20 minutes
because some news show about the Italian parliament went overtime.

And the thing to keep in mind with RAI International is that they
NEVER stick to their schedule. If they list 'ciclismo' as starting at
12:30am, it could start at 12:25 or it might not start until 12:45.
They'll air it when they feel like it, :-)
