I work for a cycle shop and can get a cannondale F900 (CAAD2) for an excellent price (if sell my
current bike, I could basically cover all of the cost), or I can pay roughly $150 more and get F1000
(CAAD3). I currently ride a '96 F500 with a CAAD2 frame and I am very satisfied with the frame, so
I know I would be happy with the F900. My question is whether or not the CAAD3 is worth the extra
money, and also worth having to look at it's ugly mango paint-job. I would greatly appreciate any
insight into this matter.

ps- please don't let this turn into one of those stupid "cannondale sucks!!!" vs. "cannondale
rules!!!" threads

the two major differences between the two bikes are the fact that the CAAD3
frame has the "power pyramid" (tapered) down tube and the CAAD2 does not.
The components are up another level from the CAAD2 but the CAAD3 frame only
has a 5 year warrantee opposed to a lifetime on a CAAD2 I've ridden both
and own a F900 but race on a F1000. there are some more info on the web
page
