I'm looking for info/opinion/feedback on a Giant ATX 890. Appreciate
any help from folks out there.
Thanks.

In article <4i49ar$2...@jaring.my>, mik...@pc.jaring.my says...

I built up a silver 890 frame and really like it. It's very
stable at high speeds and isn't as bone-jarring as my friend's
Stumpjumper. If you like a really quick handling bike, the 890 isn't
the one. It's more stable and I like to lean it into turns instead of
zipping in and out. However, it's a great frame for $300 US.

yeah...buy it! Especially if you can find a 95 model with the Marzzochi
forks on it. I have the "AL 1.75" frame, which is basically the 890
without clothes. I have all XT and a Specialized shock, and I'm VERY
happy with it. I weigh alot, and the bike seems to be very responsive to
me when I ride technical stuff...it's also really comfortable to take to
class on those two mile "gotta make it to Brit Lit or I'll be drawn and
quartered" trecks.

Have fun!

Hi Michael, I worked in a bike shop last summer dealing with Giant and
Cannondale bikes, I purchased a 1995 ATX 890, and I love it! it has a
great frame on it, good components, and a good ride.. it also recieved
a very good review in one of last years Mountain Bike Action magazines..
I don't think you'ld be dissapointed
