Hi folks,
I saw an ad for a used Raleigh Mountain bike that has
Suntour XCD 6000 components.
I am not familiar with Suntour products.
I would appreciate your comments on the following question:

How does Suntour XCD 6000 line compare with Shimano components?

Please e-mail your reply.
Thanks.

Poorly. I had the XCD 6000 on my first mountain bike. It is 6 speed,
doesn't shift very well (compared to Hyperglide), has a freewheel,
solid axle for the rear, oval chainrings that are prone to chainsuck.

The deraillers, shifters, and cranks are good, if you like 6 speed.

I upgraded the shifting by putting on a Shimano Hyperglide 6 speed
freewheel, before I upgraded the whole thing to Shimano Deore DX. If I
knew what I was doing, I would have bought a bike with Shimano
equipment on it already, and saved myself much money.
