No DVD drive. Will have to wait to buy another one with Win 7 pre-
installed.
Beware. There is suddenly a group saying how bad it is and some of the
trade rags have expressed caution. You may have to buy a new laptop just
to run 7.
I'm on Linux with XP in a Virtual machine so it can't mess things up.
A laptop on my bike would seem a bit much and the vibration might give
it an early grave.
Just a small warning.

Strange. The huge majority of reviews and people I know who use it say
its excellent.

Yes Bill. Because people come to a cycling group to hear you espouse on
Win 7. Why google real people when we can listen to you? I mean : aren't
you the Linux king? You are surely the person to ask about Win 7.
Great Jumpin' Stalin on a Bungee Cord! I just learned how to count:

I'm guessing B.Ga must have gone to school in Kentucky
or Massachusetts with them kinda math skills.
Yes, you now have many choices on which M$ product you want to crash
your computer. I'm not pushing Linux since some people will never leave
M$ because they either don't know or have been brainwashed into thinking
that M$ is the same as *computer*.
I only responded to someone asking about a laptop on a bike and
mentioned that maybe an older, cheaper, and less expensive laptop might
be a good way to go. I have an old (1990's) Compaq and it takes 15
minutes to boot and is a dog after that. It will run Linux decently.
Draw your own conclusions.
My intent was that someone would not run out and put a $3,000 laptop on
his $3,000 Trek or Specialized and kill it with the road bumps that we
all hit.
