To begin with, thanks to all who answered my first posting on
visiting Yellowstone this September.
Now for my next question:
We definitely will be going to Yellowstone. No earlier then the 3rd week of
September. I know it may get cold-- but that is okay! I'd rather freeze
than sweat. However, I don't want to freeze if I don't have to, so I'm
asking for recommendation for some warm clothing without, of course,
spending so much $$$ I can't afford to go to Yellowstone. I will spend $$$
if it is definitely worth the price. If possible, I would like to order
from REI. I've been extremely happy with them and know they have good stuff.
Thanks in advance.

Rei is a well outfitted store. I've been a member for several years now and

noticed prices rising over the years, but that is true with most anything
these days. You should only need a good down bag say rated to 0 degrees or
there about ,down jacket, polar fleece type jacket and pants , or
expedition weight top&pants.
Again I dont know how cold you tend to get but I tend to be a power
packer..
Meaning I tend to bring to many clothes ie long under wear.. However I've
been known to fall into streams and get totally soaked. It's always nice
to have extra clothes to change into.. Also you may want a nice wind/rain
jacket.. Gore-tex type fabric, However there are other types out there,
cheaper in price too. Again you could always get buy with a nice bag and no
down jacket , but I like to hang out and check out the stars at night.
Agian check with area rangers concerning typical weather patterns for that
time of year , check the weather channel and pack accordingly.
