I am trying to find information on custom boot makers. I have tried
Merrell Leathers and Fabiano Rios because they both come in size 12 N.
Neither set of boots fit well.

Does anyone know of custom boot makers? I have only been able to find
a Peter Morin and John Calden, both in Colorado. Does anyone have any
experience with these boots?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

Steve,

I have a pair that Peter made. A work of art and they fit as a glove
would. Simply satisfied.

If you would like further info, e-mail me.

Steve Komito in Estes Park Colo. repairs boots (personal
experience--excellent), and can do some customization. Vasque boots
under the Red Wing label are widely available in a number of widths at
Red Wing boot stores.

The name I always hear about for custom boots is Limmer Boots, somewhere
in New Hampshire.

Whites Boots in Spokane, WA does custom work. They're better known for
thier work boots, but they will (or at least until recently the did) make
custom boots for people. I don't know of any backpackers who have a pair,
but I do know a number of people who use them for thier livelyhood
(including my wife). All I hear is raves, so it might be worth checking
out.

Hope this helps.
