Ken,
I purchased plans to build an Airbike but haven't cut tubing yet. I live in
eastern PA and a couple of local flyers had me second guessing myself by
saying it wasn't a good choice for this area and would limit my flying. I'm
still in love with this bird so as soon as I finish the engine I will start.
BTW, TEAM has just started a newsletter to support owners/builders/dealers
called Max/news and I'm subscribing today.

A friend of mine in south eastern Illinois has his Airbike for sale. He
welds the frames for Team and has customeized the plane with a larger
strudier tailwheel assembly, large tundra type tires, etc.

It is a beautiful plane with the wings done by "Larry" from Team.

He is asking around ten thousand which is about the cost of new
materials, engine, paint, dope, fabric, insruments, etc.

Thanks Mark, but I like building as much as you do! Its just going to take me
longer. Is that the Airbike with the aluminum wings? Sorry to hear you are no
longer on the fly-ul list, I am getting tired again of the BS myself and there
are too many with an axe to grind,

An Airbike with aluminum wings? Is there such a beast? Aluminum skins too or just
aluminum ribs, spars and internal structures? Anybody with more information?

The Airbike wing is essentially a MiniMax wing (wood). The Capella
Javelin has an all metal wing; spars, ribs, braces, and is covered with
fabric. The Javelin has a flaperon option for a broad speed range, an
engine fairing and wind screen option, and has a boom tube instead of
the truss type fuselage. Check it out at WWW.capellakitplanes.com.

Hello Curt,
I'm going to paste what Mark Smith posted on the fly-ul list. It sounds
interesting but I can't add any more to this. Maybe Mark will chime in.

The person welding the frames for TEAM has designed, with the help of Ed
Fisher, a set of dope and fabric aluminum wings for an Airbike. The frame
needs modification to accept the correct distance between the LE and the TE.

Jim (Doyle) has the plane ready to fly except for the engine.

His number is 1-619-962-3414 in southern Illinois.

I have also a modified frame which will accept GT 400 wings without any
modification.

Guess I not the only one to jump off the mailing list. Glad there are
some
familiar names over here - I had forgotten about this newsgroup. Hope
to
see some of you again at the Kentucky UL Safety Seminar on the 24th.
