Hi Soaring People,

I do plan to fly in spring or summer holiday in Northern Italy with my
own glider. I need addresses and contact people in the various clubs -
for example of Varese and Sondrio.

Does anybody have such stuff and other information concerning soaring in
the Italian alps?

If yes: thank you very much for the help.

Have a very nice season '97 and good luck!

Hans

You can fly over the Alps from late Feb to end of June than high pression
reduces the good days.
I personally fly in Biella, we have 7 days tow (DR400) limited fee for
temporary member 1600 Mt. runway hard convenient Hotel in town at good rate
(the owner is a glider Pilot !!)
Mountains are 6 Km North of airfield and Biella is located at the entrance
of Val d'Aosta.

You can fly over the Alps, in Northern Italy, almost all the year but the
period from december to the end of january.
I fly in one of the best, perhaps the best, place for the mountain soaring:
Valle d'Aosta.

The Aosta Valley is located at the NW corner of Italy and it is surrounded
by the highest and well-known mountain of Europe: Monte Bianco, Monte
Cervino, Monte Rosa.

In Spring and late Fall the Termals are replaced by the incredible waves,
flight over 6000 mt. QNH are usual.

So, no more words, have a look at our web site at
http://aecaosta.netsurf.it (english translations coming soon) and feel free
to contact me at p...@aec.netsurf.it or cih...@netsurf.it.
