I hope you will give priority to the most common self-launchers, which are the DG400/800,
the Schleicher ASH26E/ASH31Mi, and some variants of the FES powered gliders. The next
priority could be sustainers, which are simpler, but still have many variations:
Two-stroke dive or electric start, jet, and FES.
I have not used the DG808 on Condor, but I'm told the propulsion system controls are too
rudimentary to use as a training aid to transition to a DG808. That's what I'm hoping for:
motorglider simulations good enough to learn the procedures for specific models of
motorgliders.
That's not the only important differences between self-launchers and towed gliders, of
course. The ability to taxi introduces more decisions and responsibility, as does the
ability to self-retrieve (self-launchers and sustainers).
