SZD-51-1 Junior Technical Service Manual

Does anyone have a soft copy of the Technical Service Manual for a
Junior that they could send to me? Our club can't locate one and we need
the procedure for the weight and balance. Specifically, we need to know
how high to raise the tail when weighing the glider.

I need to double check, but I believe the level datum for the Junior is trailing edge level with the middle of the leading edge.

From the Canadian Type Certificate Data Sheet:
"The glider, when weighing for definition of c.g. location and mass value, shall be attituded so, that the wing root-chord /wing chord in wing-to-fuselage plane is level."

I'm a cfi-g and apparently have an aerospace engineer degree and have no idea wtf that's means. How do you measure it? What do you measure? Hiwnis your average a&p supposed to figure it out?

What this means, quoted from the tech manual
"The supports should be located under the main and tail wheels. The difference of height should be adjusted so that the trailing edge of wing root rib and the wing leading edge (leveling mark) are on the same level."

How do you level an imaginary line that goes through the wing? As usual someone forgot to make the engineers actual perform the procedure.

The engineer was holding a simple tube for a water level.

Kind of like checking the aileron deflections on an SH1 with that
> procedure.
imaginary point floating aft of the TE of the aileron :P
