Wings & Wheels hosts the largest online glider classifieds. It has been and will remain a free service. We have just released Classifieds 2.0. This new version has improved features for both seller and buyer. There is a new search field. You can search by Region, FAI Class, Category, Price, number of Seats and Make / Model. After narrowing search results you may sort by Year, Total Time and Price. Within the classified each picture is selectable and the image will enlarge for a better view until closed. Each classified has well organized fields including mandatory Year, Total Time and seller rated Exterior / Interior.

Sellers now have a login to post, edit and update their classified 24x7. Up to 10 pictures can be uploaded. Within the User Dashboard the seller can change their classified status as Sold or Cancelled Not Sold. Classifieds run for 90 days unless renewed. There is a button in the User Dashboard to renew your Ad which resets the 90 day clock.

Very nice improvements. One comment - North America is a very large region and many pilots look for ships within a day or so drive. Could you make the regions smaller?

We have location by Region>Country>State/Province. Region is a search option. Country and State/Province will be searchable in a future release.

looks so much better!

a couple of questions: could you provide a direct URL for each ad, so it can be mailed/txted to someone else? when a search request completes, can you set the search parameters in the form, so they don't have to be re-entered?

thanks

Sean,
Love the new look.
Keep it simple, that's why people love it. Simple and free.

Could you provide the option of "ALL" for "model" under "make"? There are a couple of ads for PIK20s that don't show up in the directed search because the only options are A, B, D, and E. And the ad has them listed as simply PIK 20. And sometimes, people want to search by "Make" and see all that is currently available from AS or SH or DG.

Also, maybe a little less granularity on the models. One that gets all ASG29s instead of four different options. Make the seller tell what tips he/she has with the plane. Let the search grab all ASG29 or AS-G29 or ASG-29 to try and keep from missing planes when using the more directed search. This one will probably be more work on your end (sorry about that), figuring out all the ways people can identify their particular sailplane!

Similar thoughts on AS-W19 and AS-W19B. Grab all AS-W19s with one search.

Very good to have ability to search though, as you have so many ads to choose from!

FYI, there was a regression sometime in the last 24 hours (posting this at 8:48AM Eastern, May 22nd, 2015). The page source references http://143.95.81.209:8080/~wings/wings2/home.php?s=0&e=10(in an iframe tag, but connections to that host:port are refused. This is not a browser-specific issue.

You need to replace '143.95.81.209:8080' with 'www.wingsandwheels.com' in that iframe's src tag. (curl confirms that there is content at http://www.wingsandwheels.com/~wings/wings2/home.php?s=0&e=10)

Cheers,

Sean: is there a web address for each individual glider for sale? I'm researching your ads in anticipation of buying my first glider, and occasionally forward the ads to an experienced friend for his comment. Now I'm having to say "ASW-20C, first page, half way down" and he has to go looking for it.

Thank you for providing the service!

BTW that ASW20C belongs to a friend of mine.

It is a very good sailplane, well equiped and in good condition.

Sean, I was reviewing our advertisement for the Grob canopy and the system asked for a "captcha" code that was not there.
A test contact to myself worked.

Also the picture from the old web to this new style did not transfer, is it possible for me to amend the advertisement myself and add the picture?

I'm trying to find motor glider section, Trailer/winch, and parts/misc.
Where do I look for those?
Thx

Look in the CLASSIFIED SEARCH box for CATEGORY. It's a drop down box that will filter your category selection. The default display is Glider and Motorglider together with newest on top. Anything else will have to be selected from the CATEGORY drop down.

Search the drop down from "Category" Took me a while to find it, too.
