I had some delightful flights in a T21 and a Tutor at the Rift
Valley Gliding Club at Njoro in Kenya, in 1978. Launch was by
winch and the thermals were narrow but strong. There were also
lots of downdrafts, and I nearly landed in the 15 foot high maize
which totally surrounded the airfield on one flight! The K14
single seat motor glider which had been flown out from Germany
and used for the field work to write a thesis on Soaring with
Vultures which was published in Scientific American, was sitting
in the hangar, with a For Sale sign on it, but no-one flying it!
Have a nice trip.
