Seems like somewhere there was a utility that would convert a Garmin
track log to an .IGC readable format. Thanks in advance for a link to
where to find it.

It is a free utility that works great. Be careful with saving tracks in the
Garmin unit itself. If I save tracks in my Garmin Vista they lose the date
and time information and cannot then be downloaded later to produce usable
ICG files. Downloading and converting the active track works great.

There are several free conversion programs at www.taskfinder.com, under
Download, Free software.
Nice weather page as well, under Links, but I'm biased, they host it for me.

Thanks for the help with the link. I've converted the track to .IGC,
but the CAI Aero Explorer now states it can't display .IGC files that
didn't originate as CAI. Are there any other free flight display
programs out there that will?

Yes, most definatly! Check out Flight Display by Henryk
Birecki at http://www.soaringpilotsoftware.com/. Go
to the free soaring software section, scroll down to
the bottom and there it is. I've been using it for
sometime now. Works very well! Can't beat the price
either. :-) Later!

This program also has a great feature - if you have Delorme Street Atlas,
G7TOWIN can send the track right to SA and display your track on the screen map.
