CFIG Lesson Plans

I am a commercial glider pilot and tow pilot in Ca. I am preparing for my
CFIG checkride and working on the appropriate lesson plans as listed in the
PTS. I am having trouble finding a good reference or example for completing
the lesson plans. There are plenty of examples for powered aircraft lesson
plans, but it seems a slightly different approach is necessary for our type
of flying. If anyone knows a good resource to use for this subject I would
greatly appreciate it.

Two resources come to mind:

Tom Knauff's "Glider Instructor's Manual"
order at kna...@eglider.org

Bob Wander's "Flying Gliders"
order at www.bobwander.com
(get the new "Towpilot Manual" while you are there)

Most CFIG's have a library of books on soaring and draw something from each -
such as Hirth, Welch, Piggott, Wolters, Reichmann

The Colorado Soaring Association has a wonderful syllabus covering every aspect
of getting to solo.

Check it out at

Their site also has tons of other good stuff, thanks to the great team there.
