Where is the german glider museum ???

Hi,

I recently learned that there was a glider museum in Germany. Can someone tell
me where it is ?

The German Glider Museum (Segelfulg Museum) is located
on the historic Wasserkuppe Gliding Site NE of Frankfurt,
SE of Fulda. The villages of Gersfeld and Poppenhausen
(Schleicher factory) are nearby. There is a very active
soaring school (Segelflugschule Wasserkuppe) that would
be happy to fly with you in their ASK-21'S
(contact Michael Koenitz - the soaring school manager).
The Oldtimers Segelflug Club (OSC) flys
vintage gliders during the summer.
RC glider models and hang gliders also share the hill.
There are three hotels and restaurants up at the Wasserkuppe.
This "Rhon" area is a very popular site for German hiking
and nature clubs - there is a ski slope during the winter.
The museum is first class and the scenery is beautiful.
Be sure to take the short hike to the famous monument
to the fallen fliers, an easy hike along the historic slope.

The Deutsches Segelflugmuseum is located at the top of Wasserkuppe in
the Roehn. Poppenhausen, the home of Schleicher is nearby. The next
major city is Fulda. The Roehn is east north east of Frankfurt

Hi Paul,
beside the museum on the Wasserkuppe (which is definetly the best) you
can see some gliders in the 'Deutsche Museum' in Munich as well. But the
real thing is on the Wasserkuppe. Don't miss the ancient video's of our
gliding Pioneers and go to have a look on the Schleicher Segelflug
Factory which is located in 'Poppenhausen' close by the Wasserkuppe.
