Hello to all.
If anyone has experience with this two gliders I would be grateful for any feedback. I'm planning to buy twin seater and C201 sounds good but I don't know anything but wiki data. Also, I'm 194cm tall so this should be taken into consideration.

The ASW-20 list has many threads about
communication difficulties with Centrair.
That said French owners seem able to get
service - speaking the same language in
the same time zone can help.
We put a CG hook on our newly acquired
G-103A and discovered on the next annual
that an AD requires new mounting plates.
LTB Lindner supports Grob gliders and
supplied the needed parts with no more
than the usual delay at a reasonable for
aircraft price. They communicate well in
English.
We are happy with the robustness, it's
overbuilt, and flying qualities.

If you are 1.94 m tall the front seat of a Marianne would be very uncomfortable. In a Twin Astir you will have much more space.

That might be a great glider until it needs maintenance or repair. If parts are no longer available, it can be a real pain to have them custom fabricated. At which point it might be so expensive or troublesome that an ASK-21 might have been a better deal. The things I'd worry about are:
* Is there a troublesome lifetime limit like the Pegasus?
* Can you get parts?
* Can you get maintenance/service information?
* Can you get someone to work on it?

The Marianne has a substantially lower build-quality than the Grobs (poor
gluejoints, welding, design). It is uncertain how much longer Centrair will
be the tc-holder (spares availability, support, AD's), whereas LTB Lindner
has great service for the Grobs. Increase of service life is covered by SB
201-12R2, but I am unsure how this has been translated into the
FAA-approved manuals. Please note that the Marianne has a very strong
tendency to rotate to a steep attitude on winch launches due to awkward
placement (low, aft) of the CofG release.
In all: go for the sensible option and but a Twin I would say.
