I have an old Terra AT3000 altitude encoder, and am
considering using it with a new transponder in our
motorglider.
I don't have any installation information for the AT3000,
particularly the pinouts in the 15 pin D-connector.
Could anyone point me at a source of such information please
?
Alternatively, is this pinout an industry standard ? if so,
I have information for another encoder.
TIA
Cheers, John G.

I have a manual for both AT3000 and TRT250.
These include pinouts for both.
Here is the AT3000 data
Pin Signal/function
2 A1
3 A2
4 A4
5 B1
9 B2
10 B4
11 C1
12 C4
13 C2
6 Strobe
8 Power (to xponder switched power output), 2A fuse
14 Power
15 Ground

8 and 14 are connected internally

I think you are in Oz, so I could fax you a copy if you want more than the
above.

I concur. That info also matches what is in the manual
for the ACK A-30 encoder, which claims to be pinout-compatible
with the AT3000.

The A-30 manual might be useful to you; you can get
it online at:

http://www.ackavionics.com/tech_support.htm

Specifically:

http://www.ackavionics.com/images/A-30_Altitude_Encoder_Manual.pdf

It shows interconnection between A-30 and TRT-250,
which theoretically will hold for AT3000 and TRT-250.

Hope that helps some.

Thanks, and best regards to all

Thanks to Tim and Bob for their quick reply. I now have
sufficient data to use the encoder correctly
