CENFIS VARIOMETER

We are starting a user group in the UK to try to co ordinate the efforts and
problems that people have in trying to obtain a meaningful and useful
dialogue with the Cenfis manufacturer ,Holltronic.

Basically the product seems to be sound and well engineered though the
software is not as "robust" as it should be. Perhaps the new issue which
some of us have been shouting for will change that.My experience of it in
some 30 hrs in the UK and French Alps is that it has some excellent
operational features and attractive pricing.

However the road block is the factory's inability or unwillingness to
communicate with people including in some instances their own agents.
It also doesn't help that they don't believe or understand that there are a lot
of actual and potential customers in the world who do not speak or
understand German and that like it or not English is the international
language of Aviation. I understand that several US pilots have met the
same problems which extend to a refusal to discuss sensible product support
schemes and even German glider manufrs have difficulties dealing with
them

Might I suggest you look at www.winpilot.com

check out winpilot pro.. This has similar thermal information as the
Cenfis. it works with the Borgelt B50 Vario, and a Windows CE based unit.

And they speak English!!!

Al
