Joachim,

I am just curious how much did you pay in 1982 or what was Rolladen's
asking price at that time ?

60,000 DM (app. $40,000) for a 14 year old LS-4 with considerable wear and
tear (650/1400h) is a nice try and I got a good laugh this PM.

Lou,
LS4 ships have an enviable reputation as a delight to fly, and are
therefore in great demand. The asking price is the result of standard
market forces. In Oz, the asking price for one in good condition is
around A$60,000 (approx = US$47,000)

Gee Lou, as I remember you are the chap whose earlier posts flamed the
Genesis as a "real joke" even though you had not seen the airplane nor
flown the prototype. Have you seen the advertised LS-4, how do you know
it has considerable wear? There is a Pik 20 with over 3,000 hours on it
at the airport I fly from, and that airplane looks great and flies great.
The "going price for LS-4's is around $40,000. I guess I am not sure why
you seem so compelled to post inappropriate comments. If you can't say
something informative, thought provoking or even factual maybe you should
keep your posts addressed to the authors you are flaming and off the
public forums.

Just think for a second, a gentleman has a glider for sale at the going
rate and you write an irresponsilbe post. How much damage did you intend?
Or do you lack the ablilty to understand that your post may have a
chilling effect on the contemplated commerce.

On the discussion about Lou XY. Sometimes no matter what you have to say
about a guy like that, it will never sink into their thick skulls. They
tend to hide behind their screen and trash away. If he was truly
wondering about pricing differences from country to country it could have
been posted a different way. My advice is to do one of two things.
Either ignore him, ('cause sometimes people like that want attention no
matter what kind), or spam the hell out of his mailbox. I'll do the
first, especially since AOL doesn't charge extra per piece of mail
received :)
