Peter,
If you're getting engine sounds then it's probably not an address/IRQ/DMA
problem. Make sure you have the BLASTER environment variable set in your
DOS environment, e.g.
C:> SET BLASTER=A220 D1 I5 T3
where in this example 1 is the DMA, 5 is the interrupt (IRQ), 220 is the I/O
address, and 3 is the "type" of Soundblaster you have. For my
ProAudioSpectrum 16 sound card, I use T3. You may have to experiment
with values from 1 to (4?) to get yours to work. And it should work!
If that doesn't help you, send me E-mail and we'll try to get it working for
you.

Hello Chris;
A few of the (many) possible causes are as follows . . . No expanded
memory driver, such as EMM386 + you must allocate at least 512K of
*EXPANDED* memory for ATP'S voice system to function properly.
Not enough expanded memory . . . the above 512K must be free for the
exclusive use by ATP.
Check to see that the voices/sounds are turned on, by pressing ALT + E.
Hpoe that this helps . . .
Let me know how it works out . . .

I suppose you have got enough EMS memory available? I think the minimum
for voices is 640K.

Peter,
I can't vouch for whether this will work for your hardware, but several years
ago, when I originally purchased ATP (Rev. D) I had problems with the
spoken ATC on my genuine soundblaster card.
You need the following string in your startup batch file:
SETBLASTER=A220 D1 I1 T1 (you may need to check out the spacing on this)
A is the address of the soundcard (eg. 220H)
D is the DMA (eg. 1)
I is the interrupt (eg. 1)
T is the version of soundblaster card you have (eg. 1,2,3 etc.)
Try it anyway.
