I'm a journalist doing research on problems pilots may have
experienced when then encounter pilots of foreign carriers and/or air
traffic controllers (overseas) who do not have a firm command of the
english language.

I would be interested in any factual information members of this news
group would be willing to share with me.

Language problems have been implicated in several major airline crashes.

US pilots and carriers file regular reports of incidents in which language
barriers play a role. These are regularly reported in NASA's "Callback",
published by their Aviation Safety Reporting System. A searchable CD
database can be purchased, see
