Laser Approach Slope Indicator (LASI) / Laser Approach Corridor.

The system is designed to enable aircraft to be guided into bush airstrips
at night through fog & cloud and over obstacles.

actually it looks good on paper, although I too wonder what happens as I
turn into the corridor and the beam is in my eyes.
