Erasing all content and settings erases all media, data, and settings from your Apple Watch, but it does not remove Activation Lock. To remove Activation Lock, unpair the watch first. Before your watch is erased, a backup of its contents is created on your iPhone.

Apple Watch For Password On Mac

My series 6 apple watch with watchOS 8 recently started asking me for my Apple ID password, well the watch only lets me "skribble", im trying to type in a "0" and it only sees me doing a "O" or a "o" or even a "Q". So i have no idea how to type in my password for my Apple ID on my watch. This surely can not be that complicated is it? Any help would be appreciated, i also have iOS 15.1 / 12 Pro Max as my operating system so everything is completely up to date.

Is there an easier way than scribble to enter a password on Apple Watch? I recently had to change my Apple ID password and now need to update it on my Apple Watch. As recommended by security experts, I have a long password with upper and lower case, numbers, and special symbols (managed using 1Password). Entering this with scribble is nearly impossible because it keeps hiding the entered text so you can't see what you've entered and entering such random text strings is really difficult (you have to take a refresher course in entering symbols before you even think about starting).

My iPhone does allow the use of Apple Watch Keyboard input on my iPhone. I tried to paste the password into that field, which worked, but hitting return didn't seem to affect the Watch (there is no option on Apple Watch to enter the password using microphone or qwerty keyboard).

So it seems to me there are a number of "bugs" here. (1) When entering the password using scribble, you should be able to reveal all the text (if you wish). (2) the Apple Watch Keyboard on iPhone should work, which it doesn't for passwords (unless I don't know how to use it). (3) allow the use of vocal character entry or the on-face qwerty keyboard when entering passwords on Apple Watch.

If my password were short and simple, it might be easier to do, but that would violate all the rules for making up important passwords (mine is 25 characters long). These are hard enough to type in on a hardware keyboard without mistakes, especially if you can't see what you've already typed. Using Scribble, it's impossible. It should be possible to paste these passwords as I do with everything else in the Apple universe.

In attempting to make a call fro my apple watch, for the first time, I was asked for my password. I'm not sure what password is required, as I never set one up to make a call from my watch. Any suggestions?

If you're already signed in to iCloud on the iPhone paired with your Apple Watch, you will automatically be signed in to that Apple ID on the watch. Learn more about how to set up and sign into your Apple Watch here: Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support.

How do I change the passcode on my family member's watch? When I click on my family member's watch in the Watch app, there is no "My Watch" page like there is when I select my own watch. It is on the "My Watch" page where the passcode link lives. I cannot change the passcode on the family's member's Apple Watch because it is grayed out/locked.

if I turn off watch in apple settings, then reboot turn back on 1 password opens with watch. when It sleep and come back 1password is asking for password and 1password settings/security no watch option. yet strangly in safari if I click one password icon it allows me to athorize on my watch and when I do so 1password opens. strange . any help or solution appreciate. I love 1pw! and the watch function total needed as I dont have fingerprint on studio or mini.

I have the same problem with my M1 MacBook Pro and my Apple Watch Ultra. The option to use the Apple Watch periodically disappears from 1Password (8.9.11). Going to 1Password settings, the only thing you see under 'unlock' is Touch ID. However, there is no correlation with the watch failing to work with the MacBook itself...the watch always works with the MacBook. Restarting 1Password does not fix it...only rebooting. Once I do, the Apple Watch is again an option in 1Password. I have not tried toggling the watch in the MacOS settings itself. I will do so the next time 1Password removes it

We'd like to know if you're still experiencing the issue and, if you are, to let us know what versions of watchOS and macOS you're currently running. If you're not already on the latest version of both watchOS (9.5.2) and macOS (Ventura 13.4.1) you can update to them by following these steps:

Getting the same issue. Also, when not logged in, clicking the Safari add-in briefly flashes the login screen, I'm guessing thinking that the watch will log in, but doesn't login... once I login with the 1Password app, it's fine.

You can also use your Apple Watch to approve other requests to enter your administrator password. This feature requires watchOS 6 and macOS Catalina. It works anywhere you need to type your Mac password, such as when viewing passwords in Safari preferences, unlocking a locked note, approving an app installation, or unlocking settings in System Preferences.

If you do take your watch off occasionally throughout the day, there is a setting that can make your life a bit easier: Enable the Unlock with iPhone feature from your paired iPhone. This can be found in the Watch app > My Watch > Passcode. Once you enable this switch, you will have to input your passcode once on your iPhone just to verify.

1Password now offers complications you can configure for quick access to nearly any kind of information from your 1Password account. Need to keep your booking code handy while traveling? Add it as a complication to your current watch face so you can get to it in a single tap. Always logging into a particular account for work that needs a two-factor code? Pin it to your watch face for at-a-glance access.

But apart from losing out on functionality, not using a passcode on your watch means that anyone who got hold of it could potentially gain access to your Health and other app data, and possibly more besides.

Using a passcode on your Apple Watch isn't like having one on your iPhone or iPad, because you don't have to enter it every time you use your watch. You'll only be prompted for it if you remove your Apple Watch from your wrist or if the watch is restarted. Also unlike iOS devices, if you ever forget your Apple Watch passcode, there are steps you can take to regain access.

Lastly, if you tend to take your watch off during the day, there's a setting in the Watch app's Passcode menu that will unlock your Apple Watch whenever you unlock your iPhone, which should make things somewhat more convenient. Toggle on the switch next to Unlock with iPhone to enable it.

or before you erase the content, you can try to unpair first your Apple Watch and it will request you to sign out your Apple ID acct, to prevent activation lock in your Apple Watch when you attempt to pair it again. anyway when you unpair the apple watch to your iPhone it will automatically restore to its factory setting.

Note: On the cellular model with an active plan, you might be asked to keep or remove your cellular plan. Make sure to keep it. In case you do not wish to pair the watch and iPhone, you may remove it.

After your reset the watch following one of the above methods, you have two options. The first is to set it up entirely as a new device. The second involves restoring from a previous backup. For most people, the latter is the way to go. We have a step-by-step guide that shows you how to restore your Apple Watch from a backup.

Yes. For security reasons credit or debit cards stored in the Wallet app, bluetooth pairing data, and of course your passcode, are not included in Apple Watch backups. Conversations from the Messages app are also unretrievable unless you use iCloud and have Messages in the Cloud enabled on your iPhone. All other data, including watch faces will be available after you restore from backup.

I'm a big fan of this feature as I just unlock my iPhone with Face ID when I put on my watch. I don't need to enter any password on either of the two devices. It's a seamless process that spares you from having to manually input the PIN on the Apple Watch's tiny screen. If you frequently take your watch off and don't have to worry about anyone snooping on your smartwatch, then this handy setting will spare you some seconds every time you wear the watch back on. And if your iPhone goes far away from your Watch, the setting will not trigger, so your Watch still remains protected against bad actors.

I recently bought an iPhone 6 from a friend, and there's still an iCloud user on the phone. How can I log out of iCloud if I have no clue what the password is? Keep in mind I have no clue what my password is to the email set on the phone either.
