For some trips in vacation I'm looking for a flight school around Phoenix,
Arizona which has an airplane of one of the following types to rent:

Arrow, Bonanza, Trinidad, Mooney

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Try either SoutWest Flight Training at Scottsdale or
WestWinds Aviation at DearValley or Prism at Falcon Field
or Sawyer at Phoenix Sky Harbor or Chandler aviation at
(you guessed it) Chandler....!! Shop around for price. All
FBO's gouge, I mean charge, by the hobbs and not the tach.
Arrow no problem, the other three types, you'll have to ask.
Becare with the weather this time of year. Can be REALLY
sunny on occasion.

of the above, you'll not likely find anything but an Arrow.
I looked for a Bonanza to rent prior to buying one and had
no luck anywhere close (there are a few places mentioned in
a www site ... search under "Bonanza"). Very few FBO's are
willing to place expensive high performance aircraft on the
rental line ... insurance exposure alone would seem to
prevent it.

I have rented from Chandler Air Service (602-962-6420) who rent
PA-28's (Warrior, Archer, Arrow's). I believe that the Arrow IV's
are in the mid-$70's per hour Hobbs. They have a nice Turbo-Arrow
but require a hefty check out and want the mid $90's per hr.
The Archers are significantly cheaper (low $60's) and have a
better climb rate (important given the density altitude)!

Sunbird also at Chandler Muni (CHD) has one Arrow III for rent.
Don't know the rate ... call 602-821-1521.

You might also check FBO's at Falcon (FFZ), Deer Valley (DVYT)
or Scottsdale (SDL).

Or for something completely different, try Aerobatics in an
open cockpit biplane (Great Lakes) $95/hr + $32/hr for instructor

Try Prism Aviation at Falcon Field ( FFZ ). It looked like they had a Mooney
( and some sort of Piper ) last time I was in Phoenix.

Theres a nice Arrow (200hp) in Mesa at Fly n' Buy, talk to Tony (602 981
2242), it rents in the mid $70's. Westwind in DVT has an Archer for about
$80, but id rather deal with the guys at Fly n' Buy. The places at Sky
Harbor are way too much ($$$), just be carefull and ask the standard
maintaince questions, as you know not everyplace gets right to the squalk
sheets.....
