that's kind of scary looking too, but seeing how it's German, you are
right...
What always amazes me with the Fa-330 is the looks of unconcern with
the poor guy who had to be spotter and mount that as it was winched up
to the sky. It might be fun to sit and be towed by U-boat but a bit
unnerving to spot an incoming armed fighter-bomber or AS bomber.
The Fa-330 observer had to signal to be winched down or else jump in
emergencies. I haven't really ever heard of a Fa-330 observer being
shot down by enemy a/c but just the thought is a bit disturbing.
The Kriegsmarine rejected any ideas concerning early RPVs like the
As-292 Auge (AEG-modified drone fitted with Zeiss cameras used by the
Heer in limited battlefield capacity in tactical recon role).
