Who took them over? What were they morphed into? etc.
I had heard that they still had a facility of some kind in Orange
County, Ca.

I believe LTV is part of Northrop/Grumman these days, which means they
will be part of Lockheed-Martin soon.

LTV (Vought) was aquired by Northrop in the late 80s or early 90s.
They kept their name, doing sub-contract work on the B-2 and other
projects. Pending the merger of Northrop/Grumman into Lockheed/Martin
they may finally disappear as a separate entity.

This chart traces the evolution of some 20 WW II era U.S. companies; by
now, these 20 are down to 5.
Is the Northrop Grumman/Lockheed Martin merger a done deal? I hadn't
heard if it was finalized yet. What are they going to call the new
company? Certianly the great names of Northrop and Grumman aren't gong to
disappear!!

The one that comes to mind is MLRS. They also made lots
of drones, and the VT-1 Missile for the French Crotale NG system.
They also did ASAT, Erint (now Patriot PAC-3), and lots of other
stuff.

Thanks for the compliment. It's my first one on Usenet.

Does anyone else out there strongly feel that the folks at the TV
Networks who have censored out Daffy's beak getting blown off (Shoot
Me NOW!) deserve to be stripped naked, tied face down over a chair,
covered with moose musk, and set in the migratory path of a large
moose herd?

Hi,
I am currently working at part of Vought, so here is how
things look happened:
Chance Vought Aircraft is purchased and becomes the "V"
in Ling Temco Vought.
In the late 80s, the "V" in LTV is sold off. The
aircraft part is becomes Vought Aircraft for about 6 months, and
then becomes part of Northrop Grumman. The missile part is sold
to Loral, and becomes Loral Vought Systems.
Lockheed Martin buys Loral, and Loral Vought Systems
becomes Lockheed Martin Vought Systems.
Lockheed then buys Northrop Grumman, and it becomes lord
knows what, it's only been about a month.
