Here are some organizations at Ernest Harmon AFB during the 50's
or 60s. They're all USAF except the last one.
4087th Air Transport Squadron; 323rd Fighter Interceptor
Squadron (1957-60); 61st Fighter Interceptor Squadron (1953-57); 376th
Air Refueling Squadron; 4081st Strategic Wing; 6602nd Air Base Group; and
the
347th Engineer Aviation Battalion (c.1953).
The Army engineers were at Harmon at least in 1953. Also, there
were Army AAA units at Goose AB (127th AAA Btry) and Thule AB (7th AAA
Gp). Both were under the control of NEAC at Pepperell AFB at St.
John's. Perhaps they had a rear echelon or supply point at Harmon.
It might be worthwhile for you to write to:

You can also address a query to John Cardoulis care of that
address. He has written two fine books on the US military in
Newfoundland (and Labrodor, Greenland and--to an extent--Baffin
Island).
