Saw an episode of Twilight Zone last night that centered around a
crashed B-25. Tail number 42-32359. Anybody have a list of numbers
to find out if this was a real plane or just a Hollywood prop?

Just curious.

Hi Rich,

It would appear from my records that 42-32359 was a real B-25, a C model with a
construction number of 94-12767. Hope this helps

42-32359 was a B-25C-10, Mfr's # 94-12767. It's not on my list of
survivors.

The serial number does indeed fall in a sequence of numbers for a
B-25C-10. However, my references do not list it as a survivor.
Closest match I can find is B-25C-10 42-32354 which is in storage with
Aero Trader at Chino, California. Apparently only bits and pieces of
this plane still survive.

Hope this helps.

Rich - There was a B-25C with that tail number assigned to anti-submarine duty on the east coast. It crashed at Myrtle Beach, SC on July 4, 1943 and was written off as a total loss. The pilot was listed as Robert T. Dixon.

That's an interesting site. Thanks for the pointer.

Thank you!

Sci Fi Channel just aired that episode again last night. "King Nine Will Not Return."

Based in part on the "Lady Be Good" B-24 find in the African Desert some years after the end of World War II. Powerful episode.
