If you buy or sell aircraft parts, you should know that the FAA has signed
AC 00-56 Voluntary Industry Distributor Accreditation Program. This AC
describes a system for the voluntary accreditation of civil aircraft parts
distributors on the basis of voluntary industry oversight.

The Airline Suppliers Association offers a third party audit system which
supports this program.
