Have any of you built/flown a Mirage Celerity or Marathon? I cannot
find much at all on the WWW about this plane. Mirage has a website, but
very little info on it. Makes me think no one wants to build one or if
they did, they don't seem very proud of it.
Thoughts, anyone?

I had the opportunity to meet the original designer/ builder of the
celerity shortly before he died. He lived in Klamath Falls Oregon just 85
miles from me. I spent a day at his back yard workshop and worked on the new
plane he was building which was to be powered by a Subaru Legacy.

We went to the airport to see the original celerity. It was not a good day
to fly so I sat in the plane and found the cockpit to be comfortable for me
at 6'1" and 230. He had quite a few hours on the original and it seemed to
be well built. He and his wife used it to travel.

Wood and composite construction with "he claimed" no tricky areas. The
landing gear was retractable and was the expensive piece at around $5000
prefabricated.

Sad to say before I could get back to work with him some more and take the
promised flight, I heard he had suddenly died. A shame. He was about to
retire and was looking forward to having full time to devote to the new
plane. I do not know the relationship the current ownership with him.
