Do any of you knowledgeable folks know how to contact someone about plans
for the "Slepcev Storch"?

For those of you who don't know, it's supposed to be a 75% scale model of
the German WWII Feisler Storch Observation Aircraft.

My '96 edition of Aerocrafter lists Preceptor Aircraft of Henderson, NC as
the seller of plans and kits. Called their number and found that it had
been disconnected.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Good news: Slepcev is still in business, and offers his Mark 4: said by
some to be more robust than his initial planes. On his site is a squib
about a new 3 place version.
Bad news: He apparently doesn't sell plans any more; only kits.
Good news: Pazmany does sell plans for his own Storch, the PL-9
Bad news: Pazmany does not sell a kit.
Good news: The Carlson Criquet is still to be available, as a kit.
Bad news: Not too soon.
Good news: Preceptor has plans for the Stol-King
Bad news: Its not very "Storch" looking

Good News, if you want the same or better performance Cris Heintz at
Zenith with his 701 and new 4 seat 801 and 912 engines ( on the two
seater ) are had in plans and kits! The 701 will not be confused for
a Storch by anybody but it will not beat the Storch at any beauty
contests either. Obtained in kit form this plane is by far the
fastest in build times by thousand of hours. The all metal kits are
very high quality.

I have a friend who is building a a Storch from plans. He is under the
impression that Nester is only selling kits now and not plans. Probably
because the plans left alot to be desired.

Hi Robert.

I saw the Slepcev Storch at the British Popular Flying Association ( UK
version of the EAA) rally in July. It is a truly awesome aircraft. It took
off with about 50 feet take-off run! Climbed without any apparant foward
motion and then proceeded to manouvre like a Harrier! The pilot was Nestor
Slepcev the designer. When it landed it used it's stall speed of around 22
knots to take advantage of a 35 knot headwind to .... you guessed it. Fly
backwards!

I'm pretty sure they don't supply plans, just kits in various stages of
completion. God luck.

Zenith 801 4 seat airplane requires bigger engine than 912. Minimum 150HP
engine required. 180HP is OK. The first customer built 801 had Subaru 180HP
engine.
